I made this image on a gorgeous sunny afternoon this past weekend. Shot from one of Seattle’s steep bluffs, it features an iconic Washington State Ferry as it plies it’s way across the shimmering waters of the Puget Sound. In the rear are the cliffs and hills of neighboring islands. It is scenes and days like this that make the seemingly interminable gray-wet-cold winter months more tolerable.
This Morning
We’ve had a ton of rain in the past 72 hours. Caught a break during rush hour this morning. I was running a bit early and pulled into an empty lot to check e-mail. As I looked around, this scene materialized. Such gorgeous light. I love the oblique rays of the sun on winter mornings.
p.s. Not bad for a phone pic, huh?
Only In Seattle
I was in the office, click-clacking on the keyboard. Outside, the wind was gusting, blowing the snow horizontally, sometimes even up and around. Then I hear a thud-thudding and a zip-zip-zippp. Outside my window, 2 ropes materialize. Followed shortly by this fellow.
Morning Commute
We’ve had a blast of arctic air these past couple of days (thank you, Canada!). Yesterday, I waited until after the morning rush hour to make my way to work. These were images that I made along the way.
