Hoh Rainforest, 2012

Hoh Rainforest, 2012

I made this image several weeks ago on a trip to the Olympic National Park. This was a path through the Hoh Rainforest, a national treasure with enormous, jaw-dropping stands of magnificent moss-covered old growth.

1/100 second at f/4, ISO 800. Nikon D800E + Nikkor AF-S 24-120mm f/4.

  1. Hey Ray, it almost looks like a pre-historic creature with it’s head bent down as seen from behind and the 2 figures moving beneath it!

    • Thanks, Anil! I hope you managed to get over there on your trip out here. It’s a strangely magical place.

    • Thanks, Ashley! I want to go back when it starts raining again. I suspect that it will be even more spectacular (and less crowded) 😉

  3. Hi Ray, long time no see! 🙂
Goodness, that is a gorgeous, lush landscape to wander in. The tones are beautiful.

    • Thanks, Karen! Now that I’m looking at the image in daylight, I think it can do with a tad more contrast and saturation. Back to the drawing (processing?) board!
