Palouse in the Rain

Palouse in the Rain

A steady rain greeted us the evening that we arrived on the Palouse. When I made this image, the camera was all wet, save for the front element (which I took great pains to keep dry because a wet front = the end of the clicking 😉 ).

Thanks so much to Ryan McGinty, who took time from his weekend to guide and shoot with us.

1/30 second at f/8, ISO 1600. Nikon D800E + Nikkor AF-S 24-120mm f/4G

  3. I’m accustomed to seeing Palouse pictures done in early morning or evening light so this pictures is beautifully original.

    • Thanks, Frank. We were shooting during the evening but this time of year, the sunlight would still have been pretty harsh were it not for the rain. We lucked out.

    • Thank you, Karen! I still think it was worth getting wet for.
